An antique wooden door can bring traces of the past into a new space. Aged colours, hand carving and ironwork give each piece an individual identity. At\u00f6lye Aslan\u2019s door collection offers a starting point for exploring this variety. A characterful door can be especially effective within a restrained contemporary interior.<\/p>

Planning the Details<\/h2>

Before reuse, assess its dimensions, condition and suitability for the new opening. Hinges and fixings should respond to the intended frequency of use while respecting details worth preserving. Not every old door is suitable for outdoor exposure. Aggressive cleaning or sanding without understanding the surface may remove original features.<\/p>
